Here is a translation of the episode of Samushiko starring Dekopon!
It would have taken five or six posts to put it up here, which is why it's on Mediafire instead.
The parts I didn't understand are in red. I included my guesses as to what they could mean, as well as their approximate timing. If you're quite sure you know what they're saying, pray tell!
fyi, this translation is based on my own transcription, which might not be that reliable (laughs)
Thanks to
kazzeh for helping me with some of the bits I didn't get! :D♥

This morning I woke up and was about to boil water for the coffee I'd gotten yesterday, but Kenzo didn't appear at the time we'd agreed on; it was really terrible.
I heard the sound of the alarm clock being stopped four times from downstairs. Thinking that this really wasn't the time to be boiling water, I went down to wake him up.
Kenzo-kun was sleeping like a log. "It's moーrning! Let's go for recordingー!!" I said, and saying "...yeah, got it," he went back to sleep. I pulled at his pillow, but he didn't wake up. I pretended to call for a taxi, but he slept on. He just wouldn't get up, so I pulled his futon away and he finally woke up.
When we left the house the rain was really terribly strong, but we finally arrived at the recording studio. Right now we're setting up ☆

I'm going to take the risk of being a public nuisance to post my reasons for shunning Yoga.
I just want to explain why I get so uncomfortable (and scared) whenever anyone I know brings up the subject, and I hope for my sake, if not your own, you guys won't dabble in yoga. I know it's being marketed as a good exercise, but please: there are so many forms of exercise - find something that doesn't have any spiritual issues attached.
Firstly, I will mention that the source for most of the following claims here is not, as you might expect, a Christian book or website. My source is an interview (called New Light on the Yoga Tradition) with Georg Feuerstein, a man who is deeply involved in the ways of Yoga, and has written more than thirty (at the time of the interview) books on it. And no: not books against Yoga, but for it. I quote: "Georg Feuerstein is a patron of the British Wheel of Yoga, coeditor of Yoga World newsletter, a contributing editor of Yoga Journal..." Also, against any fears that the interview was conducted in a way that Feuerstein's words could be turned against him, it was conducted by Richard Miller, a strong advocate of Yoga. So this is from, you might say, the horse's mouth.
It's indisputable that Yoga has religious roots; there are Hindu, Buddhist and Jaina forms of it. Feuerstein believes that practitioners of Yoga should study from the Yoga scriptures:
"Question: How important is it for Western Yoga practitioners to study these texts?
Answer: It’s very important, and here’s the reason why. Yoga is not merely practice... The scriptures furnish the context for the actual practice of Yoga. Many Yoga practitioners... perform postures, breathing exercises, and other yogic techniques without having a clear idea of their purpose within the larger path of Yoga... because of its focus on the body [Hatha-Yoga] quickly became popular... and deprived of much of its traditional moorings... Many Indian teachers rightly look askance at what has become of Yoga, especially Hatha-Yoga, in the Western world. All too often, Hatha-Yoga is presented as a kind of gymnastics."
So as you see, Yoga is not, according to this leading expert, just an exercise. What it is, is a preparation of the body for the calling in of spirits. "Hatha-Yoga seeks to awaken the kundalini, the serpent power, which is the psychospiritual energy dormant in the body. All Hatha-Yoga is Kundalini-Yoga. Many Western teachers remain unaware the Tantric character of Hatha-Yoga."
The final stage to be reached is "Self-realization", which Feuerstein says is "the goal of all traditional forms and branches of Yoga. It consists in awakening to one’s essential identity, which is the eternal, omnipresent Self (atman)." Under Self-realization, "the awakened kundalini transforms the physical body into a "divine body" (divya-deha)" - in other words, the individual is elevated to the state of a god.
Now here's the clincher. Feuerstein tells us the purpose of yoga: "Hatha-Yoga was put forward as a way of steeling the body, preparing it for the onslaught of full spiritual awakening... (The body) must be readied for the visit of Queen Kundalini, the Goddess energy. Otherwise she gets angry and ruins your nervous system and organs like the heart. All this is well known in the Yoga tradition, but many Western practitioners dabble with it, unaware of the dangers of Kundalini-Yoga."
I don't think that, having read this, you can disbelieve the spiritual roots of Yoga. Feuerstein has made it quite clear that the spiritual and the physical side of Yoga are linked. While Feuerstein does say that few people are able to fully awaken their spiritual side on their own, and require a guru to help them accomplish this, it is my belief that nevertheless, practitioners of Yoga make themselves open to spiritual influences. You don't have to willfully call in demons for them to come; they come when you are vulnerable. Practitioners and instructors, even, practice Yoga without knowing of its background and effects, but ignorance and lack of ill-intention will hardly strip Yoga itself of its influence.
I know that those of you who aren't religious will be skeptical of all this, but please understand that in saying this I am not trying to get you to accept my beliefs; I am trying to protect you against forces I believe are real, because I don't want any of you to come to harm. So if you're thinking of taking up some kind of exercise or sport, there are hundreds of exercise programs that have nothing to do with Yoga. Even if you don't think you're protecting yourself, think what anxiety you will have saved me, and don't practice Yoga.
